Sno-King Music Educators Association recognize two Shoreline School District employees

The Sno-King Music Educators Association have recognized two Shoreline School District employees for their support of music students.

Mark Adamo, director of orchestras at Shorecrest High School and Kellogg Middle School, received the University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award.
“Mark is a tireless lesson planner and is deliberate in his preparation for learning, on behalf of his students,” his nomination read. “He sees a future for every student in his class, and his kids know it.
“He is all about respect. Maybe most of all, he respects children as people, which is exactly why kids love him, and work so hard in his class, and laugh so much in his class. He is an example to us all.”
Marc McCartney, facilities Manager of the Shorecrest Performing Arts Center, was recognized as Sno-King Music Educators' Association “Friend of Music.”

“As manager of the Shorecrest Performing Arts Center, Marc works closely with most of the local music organizations from North Seattle through South Everett,” his nomination read.
“More than a manager, Marc has an musician's knowledge of what is needed to make every performance great, and is always accommodating. Marc is on-site long before the kids arrive, and is often present long after we have all gone, ensuring that his theater is a great place to showcase student musicians.”
