Shorewood tennis team completes undefeated regular season

The Shorewood boys' tennis team completed an undefeated dual-meet season with a 7-0 home victory over Lynnwood Saturday.

The Thunderbirds won the Western Conference 3A division championship with a 16-0 record, having defeated each of the other eight Wesco 3A teams twice. Shorecrest and Meadowdale tied for second with 13-3 records. 

The top players from Shorewood, Shorecrest and each of the other seven division teams compete in the Wesco 3A tournament Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Jackson High School in Mill Creek. The top six singles players in the tournament and top six doubles teams qualify for the Northwest District 3A tournament the following week in Mount Vernon. The top two singles players and top two doubles teams in the District tournament qualify for the State 3A tournament in May.

1. Hunter Nelson / Miles Jamieson (SW) def. Engstrom / Tsuji (L)  6-1, 6-0
2. Isaac Brengelmann / Cameron McDowell (SW)  def. Thia / Dong Ha Nguyen (L) 6-2, 6-3
3. Zeke Harker / Evan Strandberg (SW) def. Thu / Yien (L).
