The Shorecrest girls’ soccer team prepares to meet Shorewood Thursday after playing at first-place Everett Tuesday.
The Scots took a second-place Wesco 3A record (10-2-1) into the game with Everett (11-0-1). The Seattle Times ranked Everett third among State 3A teams, with Shorecrest eighth. The Scots and Seagulls had played a scoreless tie at Shoreline Stadium Sept. 22.
Shorecrest and Shorewood (5-6-2) play for the second time this season Thursday at Shoreline Stadium, with the varsity game at 7:30 p.m. and the junior varsity game at 5:30. The Shorecrest varsity defeated Shorewood. 3-0, Sept. 24. The JV teams played a scoreless tie.
Shorewood had a bye Tuesday.
Shorecrest took a four-game winning streak into the match at Everett after a 1-0 victory at Marysville-Getchell Thursday, Oct. 13. Bri Lasconia scored the unassisted goal. Frida Swensen and Ashley Beeson shared the shutout. The Shorecrest JV team beat Marysville-Getchell 6-0.
The Scots had won a 1-0 game at Mountlake Terrace, Tuesday, Oct. 11. Lasconia scored the only goal, again unassisted. Swensen registered the shutout in goal. The Shorecrest JVs won 3-0.
Shorecrest had won 4-0 at Oak Harbor, Monday, Oct. 10, in a game postponed from the previous Tuesday. Lasconia had a goal and an assist, and Jessica Gratix, Nicole Sharratt and Nicole Harris scored goals. Beeson and Swensen registered the shutout. The Scot JV team defeated Oak Harbor 6-0.
Going into the Everett game, Swensen led Wesco 3A goal keepers with six shutouts for the season, Lasconia led the Scots in scoring with six goals to go with two assists.
