Shorecrest football team takes fourth-place Wesco 3A finish into Tuesday playoff game with Mount Vernon

The Shorecrest football team takes a fourth-place Wesco 3A finish into a Tuesday Northwest District playoff game against Mount Vernon. At Shoreline Stadium.
         
Shorecrest takes a 5-4 record (5-3 Wesco 3A) into the game after a 42-14 road victory over Marysville-Getchell Thursday, Oct. 27, at Marysville-Pilchuck High School,

Mount Vernon has a 6-3 record (1-1 Northwest Conference 3A) after a 30-13 loss to Northwest Conference 3A champion Ferndale Thursday.
         
Shorecrest had lost a non-league game at Ferndale a week earlier,
         
The winner of the Tuesday game will play Metro League champion O’Dea in a quad-district playoff game Friday, Nov. 4. The winner of that game qualifies for the State round of 16 Nov.  11-12.
         
In the victory over Marysville-Getchell Thursday, Shorecrest led throughout. Among scorers were Troy Phillips on a 21-year run, Ted Hammond on a 31-yard pass from John Odionm Keegan Lockleron a 92-yard kickoff return and Jerome Seamon on a 42-yard pass from Hammond,

  1. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of respect demonstrated by the Mt. Vernon team and coach in their game against Shorecrest on 11/1/11. As my son lay on the field with a separated shoulder, the Mt. Vernon team wandered around talking with each other as the Shorecrest team appropriately took a knee. In all my son’s 8 years of playing football, I have never seen such poor sportsmanship!
