Five commissioners serve on the Northshore Fire District Board of commissioners; I am running for re-election for one of these positions. Of the remaining four commissioners, three are endorsing my campaign; Carolyn Armanini, Ron Gehrke and Kae Petersen. Their support is based upon the 24 years of dedicated service I have provided to the citizens of the Fire District, having been instrumental in providing our firefighters with the very best facilities, apparatus, equipment and training enabling a safe and effective delivery of emergency services.
My opponent has been financially supported by the Northshore Firefighter’s union. He is also a member of the union, the International Association of Firefighters, and works in a Northshore fire station. This has caused many of my supporters to question whether it’s appropriate for a Board member to sit at the bargaining table with members of the very same union where he is affiliated. This is a question for you, the voters to decide.
