Letter to the Editor: Robin is clearly the best qualified candidate
Sunday, October 30, 2011
To the Editor,
I enthusiastically support Robin McClelland for Shoreline city council.
As a longtime resident of Shoreline who has closely followed local politics since our City's inception, I believe that Robin is clearly the best qualified to effectively manage our City:
* professional background in urban planning
* long experience on Shoreline's planning commission [look at the results --- our City is doing well!]
* she is retired and has no personal agenda other than service to our City
* a problem solver who will continue the present Council's cooperative approach, avoiding the unnecessary expenses and rancor that characterized some previous Councils
I urge you to vote for McClelland. I believe she will best serve the City of Shoreline.

Ms McClelland stands to make ever more decisions that support developer investments instead of encouraging neighborhood friendly development. I have personally witnessed just how little she knows about our city and how her decisions affect those who have to live with their outcome across the street, up the block or right next door. As a resident of THE Highlands she does not represent the 99% and is protected from having to live with her decisions. She is wholly out of touch......
There is nothing wrong about being a resident of The Highlands, but candidate McClelland lives in RICHMOND HIGHLANDS which is a completely different Shoreline neighborhood. Richmond Highlands is bordered by Aurora on the east, Richmond Beach Rd on the north, Carlyle-Hall Rd behind SCC on the south, and 8th NW on the west. Check out the City webpage for neighborhood information:
