Bartell Drugs launches seasonal flu vaccination program

Bartell Drugs is launching an extensive seasonal flu vaccination program offering a full schedule of in-store vaccinations for individuals and a flu clinic program serving area businesses.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against this serious disease.

Bartell Drugs is now offering in-store flu shots by appointment or a walk-in basis at many locations. Beginning in September, Bartell's will also conduct over 100 in-store flu shot clinics. The Bartells at Gateway Plaza, 18420 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline WA 98133, 206-542-2948, will offer two clinics:
  • October 11, 1-5 pm
  • October 18, 1-5 pm

All in-store flu vaccination recipients will receive a Bartell's coupon book with over $140 in store-wide savings.

Pharmacists can immunize anyone 14 years of age or older (ages 14 through 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).

Bartell's is also offering Fluzone(r) High-Dose, an influenza vaccine designed specifically for people 65 years and older. Fluzone(r) High-Dose vaccines contain 4 times the amount of antigen (the part of the vaccine that prompts the body to make antibody) contained in regular flu shots.

For area businesses with 25 or more employees, Bartell Drugs is launching its corporate seasonal flu vaccination program-offering "in-the-workplace" flu shot clinics. Now in its fifth year, the program provides a convenient way for businesses and employees to decrease sick time and lost productivity due to sickness. Employees vaccinated against influenza help protect their families and co-workers from contracting the virus, some of whom may be at higher risk from complications.

Bartell's pharmacists will administer flu shots at businesses, with discounts available for groups of over 50 employees.

Family-owned for 121 years, Seattle-based Bartell Drugs owns and operates stores in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties and is the nation's oldest drugstore chain.
