Six Finalists Selected for City of Shoreline Administrative Services Director Position

From the Office of the Shoreline City Manager

Shoreline City Manager Julie Underwood selected six finalists to move to the final round of interviews for the administrative services director position. Assistant City Manager Debbie Tarry held the position before the City Manager appointed her Assistant City Manager in May of this year.

The six finalists are:
  • Anthony Turley, Director of Fiscal Services for the Carson City, Nevada School District;
  • DeWayne Pitts, Chief Financial Officer for King County Sheriff’s Department;
  • Michael Legarsky, Finance Director for City of Port Townsend;
  • Thomas McBroom, IT Service Delivery Manager for King County Department of Development and Environmental Services;
  • Candice Chin, Fiscal Manager for the City of Bellevue;
  • Jill Stanton, Acting Finance Director for Everett Housing Authority.

The Administrative Services Director reports directly to the City Manager and is a key member of the City’s Leadership Team, which is comprised of department directors. The Director oversees the Administrative Services Department, which includes finance, information technology and the city clerk’s office.

The City received over 50 applications for the position. Of those, 16 were chosen to go through an initial phone interview. From the results of those interviews, the City Manager chose the six finalists.

The final interviews will take place on Monday and Tuesday, August 8-9, 2011. Candidates will be interviewed by two separate panels made up of staff and the City’s Leadership Team. In addition, the City Manager will meet individually with each candidate.

It is anticipated that a new administrative services director will be selected by late August.
