Newly chartered Rain City Rotary volunteers at Jacob's Well

Rain City Rotary members cleared construction debris from Jacob's Well on July 30

On July 30, 2011, twelve members of the newly chartered Rain City Rotary worked at Jacob's Well in the Ballinger neighborhood, helping clear debris from the building, which is under construction.

All of the framing and plumbing for the building have been completed.

Jacob's Well is supported by dozens of local churches, organizations, and individuals 

Jacob’s Well, a project of Vision House, will house homeless mothers and their children in 20 apartments in a complex which will include a counseling center and a child care center. It is modeled after the successful Vision House program in Renton, which has been providing transitional housing and support services for over 20 years.

Rain City Rotary was founded on the principles of fellowship between members and active service to the community. The mission of Rain City Rotary is to facilitate fellowship between members and families, and to actively serve the community and the world through service that makes a difference to human life.

A new club, it was chartered on July 1, 2011 with 30 members joining Rotary International. Rain City meets on most Thursdays at the SAC on the campus of Shoreline Community College, 6:15 - 7:45pm. Rain City members perform at least one service project each month along with volunteering at Hopelink the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
