Evan Smith: More on registration to vote in the primary

I reported Wednesday that new Washington voters can register to vote in the August 16 primary election through Monday, August 8 at the King County elections office in Renton.

Late registering voters have two options; Getting a ballot printed at the elections office or have a ballot mailed to their homes. 

"It depends on whether they want to wait or not," elections office representative Kim Van Eckstrom told me Tuesday. "August 8 is still enough time to mail ballots out. We will help each person who comes in person, depending on their needs."

The deadline for previously registered Washington voters to change their voting addresses or for anyone to register on line or by mail was July 18.

Voters can register in person, on line or by mail for the November 8 general election through Monday, October 10.
