Third Place Commons Community Calendar - July 2011

Third Place Commons is the organization that sponsors community activities and events in and around the Third Place community space at the Lake Forest Park Towne Centre. It includes the Sunday Farmers' Market, Friday and Saturday night musical performances, and clubs, such as the Knitters.

Knit Night in the Commons 6-9pm
Friday, July 1
Too hot to knit? Bring some colorful cotton yarn, knit with friends in the comfort of the Commons, and start thinking about your fall projects.
Playtime! 10am-11:30am

Join other parents, grandparents, and caregivers with children ages birth to 5 in front of the stage for art, games, and conversation, sponsored and led by the Shoreline Family Support Center.
KCLS Library Picnic Storytime 11:30am-1pm

Bring your lunch and travel around the world with us through stories, songs and other fun activities.
Going Global Comedy Show with Alex Zerbe 3-4pm
Friday, July 8
Watch Alex harpoon vegetables launched from a giant slingshot. Listen as he performs music looping, and laugh as he demonstrates games from around the world. This high-energy fun is sponsored by KCLS.
Crafts Day at the Lake Forest Park Farmers Market 11am-4pm

The Land that Rock Forgot with the Brian Waite Band 3 – 4 pm

When the band's plane crashes on a remote island, their high-tech musical instruments are useless. They start to experiment with sound and rediscover the beauty of nature. This castaway experience is brought to you by KCLS.
Sticks and Stones, Seeds and Bones Concert 3 – 4 pm

Nancy Stewart knows rhythm, and she invites you to see, hear, and sing along with unusual instruments from around the world, from a goat's toenail to dry gourds. Sponsored by the musically-inclined King County Library System.
Coming Home: Issues Facing Returning Veterans 7 – 8 pm

As part of the Lake Forest Park Read’s program, veteran and counselor Scott Swaim discusses the challenges faced by returning veterans and their families.
