You may have noticed there are no fireworks stands around. You may have noticed the signs on the roads in Lake Forest Park. Here's the scoop: Fireworks are BANNED.
BANNED in Lake Forest Park
BANNED in Shoreline
BANNED in Edmonds
BANNED in Mountlake Terrace
BANNED in Kenmore
BANNED in Seattle
and probably BANNED in Woodway, but I didn't check.
LEGAL in Brier (bet that changes after everyone from LFP, SL, MLT, Edmonds and Kenmore goes there with their fireworks!)

The fire departments have been saying for years that they are tired of people blowing their fingers off. I think they would like to run regular shifts on the 4th, instead of having all hands on deck to be able to respond to multiple fires at the same time.
For those of you who are busy exploding things (yes, I hear you), know that the police departments have all stated they will aggressively pursue violators.
However, one ray of sparkler light for you. Lynnwood has fireworks stands and is allowing personal fireworks during certain hours. If you are interested, check out my friend Mike's article in LynnwoodToday.
For those of you scofflaws who plan to light noisy things on fire on your street corners and hand lighted sparklers to children who would not otherwise be allowed to play with fire - a personal plea to clean up after yourselves and not leave the debris all over the street. My tires thank you!
However, there are community fireworks shows in Kenmore, Edmonds, and Kingston. (See article).
