Goat Days activities will include:
- A petting zoo for children
- Kids tattoos
- Things to color
- Free coffee
- Free kids pizza coupons
The City is providing:
- Games for children
- Free hot dogs, ice cream and drinks
Set this special day aside for fun and frolic; there have never been so many activities on one day in the history of our City. Don't miss the Secret Garden Tour and the other activities at Towne Center during this weekend.
Goat Days info booths for the next three weekends at both Albertsons doors and the City's booth at the Farmer's Market.

The city cries poverty, asks the employees to forgo pay raises, fails to buy equipment needed because they are short money yet they have time and the money for stuff like this.
Begs the question how money poor the city truly is.
Oh yes, while also asking (demanding?) that the citizens pay more in taxes.

Goats grazing away on blackberries is a wonderful move on the city's part. No noisy machinery needed to get rid of unwanted blackberries and it is more cost effective than hiring city workers.
Plus it is fun for the neighborhood to see the goats in action. thank you
Would this be the same neighborhood with a history of NIMBYism? The same neighborhood that was resistant and hostile to the idea of a city built picnic covered area (when the city was still flush with cash)? Since the city does not have goat on the payroll, they have to get them from somewhere and last I checked, folks don't lend out herds of goats for free. Hence, it costs money. So, who is paying for this? Hint: starts with a a "T."
Goat Days is the project of the Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation. It's their contribution to the 50th Anniversary Celebration. They are getting donations from local merchants to fund the event. They have partnered with the City.

I'm pleased to be attending an event that takes place in Lake Forest Park, the town I call home. I don't have to fight traffic or deal with parking to go to an event that profits someone else's community. Even better that it is not corporate-focused.
I think this is a great idea and will be taking my 2 year old son here today! And you know what? If my tax-dollars were to go towards funding an event like this, making it FREE for those who attend, that's fine with me!
This is a wonderful idea, and I'm glad to support it by making a donation. It's great that the Stewardship Foundation could do what our money-strapped governments could not do. It benefits everyone. Shouldn't everyone be contributing to it, proportional to their financial ability? Our state can do so much more for us and for the future generations if we had income tax.
