Shorewood opens District softball tournament Wednesday, May 18, in Sedro Woolley

The Shorewood softball team opens Northwest District 3A play Wednesday, May 18, at Janicki Field in Sedro Woolley.

Shorewood, the No. 4 team from the Western Conference 3A division, plays defending State 3A champion Sedro Woolley, the No. 1 Northwest Conference 3A team, in a first-round game at 4 p.m., with the winner advancing to a semifinal game Wednesday evening against the winner of a game between Wesco 3A No. 2 Mountlake Terrace and Wesco 3A No. 5 Lynnwood, Losers of the two games meet in an elimination game Wednesday evening.

Shorewood takes an 8-12 overall record into the tournament after finishing Wesco 3A play with a 7-7 division record, Sedro Woolley has a 17-2 record with one tie, after winning the Northwest 3A-2A-1A Conference with a 12-1 record.

After eight games Wednesday, the tournament concludes with four more games Friday, May 20 with the top three teams qualifying for the State tournament May 27-28 in Lacy near Olympia,
