Shorewood girls place 13th among 51 teams at Lake Washington Invitational Track Meet

While boys’ track teams from around Washington and British Columbia were competing in the Shoreline Invitational Saturday, girls’ teams competed at the Lake Washington Invitational at Lake Washington High School in Kirkland.

Shorewood led local teams, placing 13th among the 51 competing teams.

Miriam Mboya placed third in the 100 meters, and Erin Johnson was fourth in the 800 to lead the Thunderbirds.

The meet featured the internationally run 1500- and 3000-meter races rather than the 1600- and 3200-meter races that Washington high schools usually run. Lisa Santroch of Shorewood placed 12th in the 1500.
