Shorewood District tennis results May 17

Shorewood's Mackenzie Bang defeated Rosie Ellison of Everett 6-2, 6-2 and Josie Dow of Meadowdale 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 to advance to the final in the District 1 tennis tournament. She will meet Meera Limaye of Shorecrest in a repeat of the Wesco 3A league final. Shorewoods doubles team of Francesca O'Malley and Daniella Brengelmann won their first match by defeating the number two team from Ferndale, Hannah Burgler and Jessika Cruikshank 6-3, 6-0 then lost to Everett's Anna Lauritzen and Katie Stewart 3-6, 3-6. They will need to win two matches tomorrow in the consolation bracket to be able to play for the second spot to the state tournament.
