SCC Softball Finishes Second In Region, Goes To NWAACC Championships this weekend

The Lady Dolphin Softball Team spilt with Everett CC on Saturday, May 14, 2011 to capture second place in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC won the region last season and finished tied for second in 2009. SCC defeated Everett 5-0 to clinch second place over Everett, and the Titans beat SCC 8-2 in the other game. SCC swept Douglas College on Tuesday, May 10 and Skagit Valley on Thursday, May 12. SCC finished the season 17-7 in the NWAACC Northern Region and 17-13-1 overall.

SCC will play Green River Community College on Friday, May 20 at Delta Park in Portland, OR at 11:30 am in the first round of the NWAACC Softball Championship. SCC is the #2 seed from the Northern region, while GRCC is the #3 seed from the Western region. GRCC is 18-12 on the year.
