Diggin' Shoreline creates community garden spaces - no gardener too young

The Garden. Original artwork by Zeth Peterka.
Diggin' Shoreline, formerly Shoreline Community Gardens, is a volunteer group of avid gardeners who want to help people turn unused pieces of land into gardens.

My Mom and Dad helped start Diggin’ Shoreline, and I have been able to help out. My favorite thing about Diggin’ Shoreline is that they are helping neighborhoods turn vacant and unused areas into community gardens. People who might not have space to plant in their own yard can come and have a community garden plot.

I like working with other people to make community gardens, because you can’t make a community garden by your self! I also like making garden boxes with other people, moving wood chips, and I especially like seeing a new garden when we are done.

If you (or any kids you know) would like to learn more about Diggin’ Shoreline, they meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in City Hall room 301. You can also contact them on email.
