This is the Cliff Notes version. For more in-depth information, go to the city webpage.
The first project actually ends a couple of car lengths north of the 185th intersection.  The wall being constructed on the west side of the street is part of the 2nd mile project.  The second project, referred to as Mile 3a, goes north of the 192nd intersection to the YMCA.

N 165th - N 185th Streets (Marshbank Construction)

This week, crews will:
  • Excavate middle of Aurora between N 165th and N 175th Streets to begin work on center medians.
  • Form and pour concrete face of retaining wall on Aurora north of N 185th Street. Access to Firlands Way will be limited or closed from Aurora.
  • Install the joint utility trench across N 185th Street during the day, estimated to begin on Tuesday. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction on N 185th Street. Additional substantial work on N 185th Street is expected in the next couple weeks.
  • Excavate the west side of Aurora between N 182nd and N 185th Streets and begin pouring curbs.
  • Pour driveways on the west side of Aurora north of N 175th Street and pour sidewalks on the south side of N 175th Street east of Aurora.
  • Continue planting and installing topsoil and irrigation components.

N 185th - N 192nd Streets (Johansen Excavating)

This week, crews will:
  • Shift traffic to the east side of Aurora on April 5 (weather pending) to create a work zone on the west side. Following traffic revision, left turns onto and off of Aurora between N 185th and N 192nd Streets will be limited to signalized intersections only.
  • Install new stormwater catch basins on the east side of Aurora. Traffic on Aurora will be periodically reduced to a single lane in each direction.
  • Begin drilling and excavating on the west side of Aurora near the Department of Licensing and Shoreline Park & Ride in preparation for retaining wall construction.
  • Continue construction activities near the Shoreline Park and Ride. Work near the park and ride lot will continue through early 2012. Transit riders should take care to follow detour signs as bus stop pick up and drop off locations may need to be rerouted throughout the project.
