The SCC Sport Weekend

The SCC baseball and softball teams suffered losses over the weekend and rain continues to play havoc with schedules as the SCC Home Opening Tennis Match was rained out.

SCC Baseball Drops Two Games to Lower Columbia:

The Shoreline Community College baseball team dropped two games to Lower Columbia College on Sunday, losing 14-1, 14-2. SCC pitchers had a tough time finding the strike zone, as SCC combined for 20 walks in the two games.

Micah Yabes had 2 hits in the second game including a double for SCC and scored a run. Lower Columbia is ranked #3 in the NWAACC and is 10-4 overall.

SCC begins NWAACC Northern Region play on Saturday, as they play at Bellevue College at 1:00 PM and then return home to Lower Woodland Park to face the Bulldogs on Sunday at 1:00 PM as well. Both dates are doubleheaders. SCC is 6-9 overall, while Bellevue is 11-8 overall and 3-0 in the region.

SCC Loses To Clackamas Community College:

The Lady Dolphin softball team lost to Clackamas Community College on Saturday, 3-0. The SCC squad was held to 1 hit in the game and had 10 strikeouts against the NWAACC’s #2 team.

Shoreline was also supposed to play Clark College but that game was rained out. SCC is 4-6-1 on the season so far and will play Bellevue College on Tuesday in a key NWAACC Northern Region game. SCC is the defending NWAACC Northern Region Champs and Bellevue is the traditional power of region. BC is 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the region. SCC is 4-0 in the region. Game time 1:00 PM on Tuesday and the game will be played at Shoreview Park.

SCC Tennis Rained Out at Home, Women’s Team Defeated by Bellevue:

The SCC Men’s and Women’s Tennis matches for Saturday against Skagit Valley were rained out after about an hour of play. The matches will be rescheduled for later in the season.

On Sunday, the Bellevue College women’s tennis team defeated SCC 9-0. SCC playing with only three players had to forfeit 3 single matches and 2 doubles. The SCC women tennis team is now 0-1 on the season and play at against Treasure Valley CC on Saturday, April 10th, at 9:00 AM.
