Celebrate Earth Day by joining the Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation and the Friends of Cedar River Watershed as they continue efforts to eradicate noxious weeds from parks and public spaces.
Work parties will be removing English Ivy from the trees and from the ground at Grace Cole Nature Park and other spaces. We'll gather at Grace Cole Park at 10 am on two consecutive Saturdays: April 16 and April 23.
We welcome individuals, businesses and organizations who want to honor the earth and the natural environment in this way. An educational element is included in each work party to help participants better understand the fascinating mysteries of Nature.
- Some tools and gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorites.
- Lunch and snacks will be provided. Bring water in a refillable container.
- Dress for the weather. Long sleeves, closed shoes and rain gear are important.
All minors please have parental consent (forms at your school or we can send one to you). Those under 14 need to bring a parent or guardian.
Please call Mamie Bolender 364-4410 for more information, to report your availability or to arrange for your group to participate.
