The City of Seattle, King County and Snohomish County Emergency Management "3 to Get Ready" Contest

If you are a FaceBook user, go to this link to the City of Shoreline Emergency Management FaceBook page for you or your neighbors to take the "3 to Get Ready" emergency preparedness challenge.

All others: use this link to take the "Get Ready" challenge.

If you are unfamiliar with the Map Your Neighborhood (MYN) program created by the Washington State Emergency Management Department, here is the link.

The City of Shoreline calls its MYN program "Ready Neighborhood" and has all the materials a facilitator, co-facilitator, or host would need to plan and assemble a neighborhood meeting.

MYN and Ready Neighborhood are programs that Map blocks within a given neighborhood. A host is usually a resident who hosts a neighborhood meeting in their home. The neighbors use the meeting and a DVD guide to plan and prepare for emergencies and disasters.

If you are interested in participating in the contest, you can email Jill Rucker for the details.  Otherwise, these sites are full of information to help you prepare to survive in your neighborhood until outside help is available.
