British blues-rocker John Waite returns to the stage with new material and new energy for his hits, Saturday April 9, 2011 at 7:30 pm at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Tickets are available on-line or by phone 425-275-9595; ticket prices are $15-$40.   

About John Waite

John Waite’s career has been long and varied, including two different successful groups, as well as a fruitful solo career. Inspired by British blues-based bands like Free and Humble Pie, John began his musical career in 1975 with British rock group The Babys, rehearsing and playing gigs around London. Through hard work and persistence, the band achieved success in America with singles “Isn’t It Time?” and “Every Time I Think Of You”. 

In the early 80s, John struck out on his own and scored another hit with “Missing You”, still a radio staple around the globe. John then joined with former Babys bandmate Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon of Journey to form Bad English and scored another hit with “When I See You Smile”. John has continued to compose and record solo albums as well as music for feature films and even found time to tour with Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band. He’s recently released back-to-back albums, 2010’s In Real Time, an electrifying live album covering hits from throughout his career and recorded on tour in 2009, and 2011’s Rough and Tumble, his first collection of brand new material in four years.

Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Avenue North, Edmonds, WA 98020.  Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA), is a non-profit performing arts facility located in picturesque downtown Edmonds, Washington. Located in the historic original Edmonds High School building, ECA was remodeled and opened in October 2006 to be a cultural resource for the Puget Sound region through performing arts presentations, community partnerships and education outreach programs.
