King’s girls’ season ends with 21-8 record after Friday loss in State tournament

The King’s High School girls’ basketball team finished its season with a 21-8 record after a loss Friday to Granger in the State 1A tournament in Yakima.

Granger moved on to play Connell in a Saturday game for fourth and sixth places in the tournament.

In the 63-47 loss to Granger, King’s held a 31-25 halftime lead before Granger came roaring back to win as the Knights went cold in the second half. Andrea Berendsen and Joclyn Kirton led the Knights with 14 points each.

Kirton led the Knights in season scoring with an average of 13.1 points per game.
