The King’s girls’ basketball team plays in the State 1A basketball tournament quarterfinals Thursday at the Yakima SunDome.
The Knights take a 21-6 overall record into a game against defending champion Freeman at 2 p.m. Thursday in the event that involves eight boys’ and eight girls’ teams in both the 1A and 2A classifications.
King’s reached the final eight by defeating Ilwaco and Onalaska in regional play last weekend at Glacier Peak High School.
The Knights have been led in scoring this season by 5-11 junior center Joclyn Kirton, who has averaged 13.2 points in the team’s 27 games.
