Correction: Chris Eggen quotation
Tuesday, March 8, 2011
Re the story on the Shoreline City Council decision on the appeal of the awarding of the Certificate of Appropriateness for the Bassetti design for the new Shorewood high school from the King County Landmarks Commission, Chris Eggen has this correction:
I asked a final question regarding the Landmark Committee Decision - which was suggested in the appelant's brief and was the piece of information I needed to finalize my decision, and then said I would be voting to support the Landmark Committee Decision because I was "NOT CONVINCED THEY HAD MADE AN ERROR". This is a long way from the quote that I "saw no grounds to criticize their work".

A difference without a distinction Chris!
Bottom line, you did not challenge any of the assumptions and lies of SSD, Landmarks Commission, or other misinformation. You asked one question about whether the Landmark status would remain intact, and let it drop. Of course the Landmark Status will be in doubt and huge precedents will be set!
You bought the line from SSD and Landmarks Commission "hook, line, and sinker."
