According to Melanie Granfors at Shoreline Fire, a worker at the Shoreline Transfer Station thought his load contained a piece of radioactive metal. He returned to the Transfer Station, closely followed by news agencies, including a helicopter.
They were apparently disappointed to find that the transfer station would not start glowing or producing radioactive wildlife.
As a precaution, the metal will be disposed of as "hazardous waste" on Monday.
