Shorecrest girls extend streak to six games with wins over Glacier Peak and Lynnwood

The Shorecrest girls’ basketball team takes a six-game winning streak into its game at Shorewood Saturday, Jan. 22, after defeating Glacier Peak, Friday, Jan. 14, and Lynnwood, Tuesday, Jan. 18.
The Scots take an 8-2 Wesco 3A record (9-7 overall) into the 5:30 p.m. Saturday game against Shorewood (3-6 Wesco 3A, 4-11 overall). The game is part of the daylong Shorecrest-Shorewood hoop fest involving girls’ and boys’ freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams.
In the 41-40 victory over Glacier Peak, the Scots came from behind when Brianne Lasconia hit a 3-point shot with two seconds to play in the fourth period India Matheson led Shorecrest with 20 points and 16 rebounds. Lasconia scored 19 points for the Scots.
In the 59-52 win over Lynnwood, Shorecrest led throughout the game. Lasconia scored 20 points; Matheson had 15; and Janie Uppinghouse scored 10.
