Shorecrest boys take 6-3 Wesco 3A record into game at Shorewood after topping Lynnwood Tuesday

The Shorecrest boys’ basketball team takes a 6-3 Wesco 3A record (9-6 overall) into its Saturday game at Shorewood after a 20-point victory over Lynnwood Tuesday.
 

The Scots and Shorewood (3-6 Wesco 3A, 6-9 overall) meet at 7:30 p.m. in the concluding game of the daylong Shorecrest-Shorewood hoop fest involving girls’ and boys’ freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams from the two schools.
 

The Shorecrest boys scored a last-second win over Shorewood when the two teams met at Shorecrest Dec. 16.
 

In the 62-42 victory at Lynnwood Tuesday, Shorecrest fell behind by two points after the first quarter before taking an eight-point halftime lead, which the Scots extended to 13 after three quarters and 20 at the end. Junior Chibuogwu led Shorecrest with 22 points. Dylan Pontrello scored 10.
 

The Scots had defeated Lynnwood at home, 77-56, Dec. 14.
 

Chibuogwu leads Shorecrest in season scoring, having averaged 17.1 points per game.
