One Man Under Arrest, One Sought After Vicious Assault in Shoreline
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
WANTED: Lorenzo A. Leon |
Sheriff's detectives have one man under arrest and they are looking for the 2nd suspect after a Shoreline man was assaulted when he thwarted the theft of his car.
The incident started on December 17th. The 55 year-old victim was on the deck of his apartment in the 15100 block of Stone Lane North smoking a cigarette about 3:00 AM. Detectives believe he heard someone trying to steal his 1995 Jeep Cherokee and went out the investigate.
Shortly thereafter a neighbor called 9-1-1 after she looked outside and saw the man bloodied and crawling on all fours, naked expect for one slipper. He had life-threatening injuries and was not able to tell deputies what happened.
When the victim went outside he was wearing a very distinctive, custom made green bathrobe with a large, exotic cat image on the back.
Investigating detectives found his car door lock punched and ignition damage, consistent with an attempt to steal the car. Fingerprints belonging to two different men were found in or on the vehicle.
Since the incident the man has remained at Harborview Hospital, unconscious and unable to talk. His injuries included fractured ribs, lacerated spleen, broken foot, broken bones in his face, as well as other injuries. The injuries are consistent with being beaten and run over and dragged by a vehicle.
During their investigation detectives learned one of the suspects, Harold C. Donald, age 21 and 6’ 6” tall, 240 lbs., had gone to his grandmother’s house late the night of December 17th. Grandmother said Donald’s clothes were dirty and bloody, and he said he had “stomped” someone.
Detectives also interviewed Harold Donald’s mother. She said her son gave her a bloodstained bathrobe for Christmas. The bathrobe was green and had a large cat image on the back. The bathrobe was recovered and positively identified by the victim’s wife as the one he was wearing the night he was assaulted.
The second suspect is still at large. He is Lorenzo A. Leon, also 21 years old. He is a black male, 5’ 7” tall and 155 lbs. He lives in Everett.
The case has been sent to the Prosecutor's Office, and charges are expected.
If anyone knows where Lorenzo Leon can be found they are asked to call the King County Sheriff's Office at (206) 296-3311 or 9-1-1.
Both men are twice-convicted felons.
