It's an easy job - just clear the leaves off the street drains. Your reward will be to see the rainwater running down the drain instead of puddling in low spots like the street or your neighbor's front yard.
Lake Forest Park will let you adopt a drain (see previous article) but you don't have to be signed up to clean up.
Both Shoreline and Lake Forest Park want you to feel empowered to clean any drain you see. You know where the drains and the problem spots are in your neighborhood - be part of the solution by keeping an eye on them and clearing debris. It's a lot less work than filling sandbags.
