Authors at Third Place Books January 5 - 8

Third Place Books at LFP Towne Centre is a major stop on the book circuit for 
authors promoting new books. Authors generally read from their books, sometimes answer a few questions, and then autograph the copies that people have purchased. Most of the events take place in The Den, a cozy area in the middle of the store.

In 1986 two fathers, one black and one white, joined poor black kids and rich white kids together on an experimental basketball team.  The boys bonded quickly and won a state title, and the “experiment” was deemed a success.  20 years later Doug Merlino tracked down his former teammates and the result is a complex, gripping, and, at times, unsettling story.
