The Shorewood boys’ basketball team takes a 1-1 record into its Wesco 3A opener Friday.
The Thunderbirds got their first victory of the season. 60-41, at home Tuesday over Washington of the South Puget Sound League 2A division.
Shorewood had opened its season Friday, December 3, with a 52-41 loss to Redmond of the Kingco 4A League.
The Thunderbirds open Wesco 3A play with a home game against Mountlake Terrace at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
In the victory over Washington (1-2) Tuesday, Shorewood forced Washington into 22 turnovers and Gage Carroll added a game-high 17 points for the Thunderbirds. Ben Andrews added 11 points, six in the final quarter, and Peter Berquist scored 12 for Shorewood.
