The Shorecrest boys’ basketball team dropped its record to 1-1 after losing Friday night to Battle Ground, 67-54, at the Southwest Washington school.
Shorecrest was to stay in Southwest Washington for a 1 pm Saturday game against Hudson’s Bay High School of Vancouver before returning for a Wednesday home game against Edmonds-Woodway of the Wesco 4A South.
The Wesco 3A Scots had opened their season Tuesday with a 68-62 victory at Stanwood of the Wesco 4A North.
Shorecrest couldn’t climb out of an early 10-point hole to Battle Ground Friday in the Scots’ loss. Emmanuel Chibuogwu Jr., a 6-foot-6 junior, had a game-high 17 points for Shorecrest.
