For the second consecutive weekend, the Shoreline Community College Basketball Team won the consolation bracket at an eight team tournament. The Dolphins went 2-1 at the Community College of Spokane/North Idaho College’s Bigfoot/Cardinal Tournament.

In the opening game on Friday night, the SCC squad dropped a 76-59 game to the host CC of Spokane. SCC was cold shooting in the first half, scoring only 18 points while shooting 23% from field to trail Spokane 34-18 at half. SCC played even in the second half, being outscored 42-41 but could not make up any ground was sent to the consolation bracket. SCC was led by Alfie Miller with 17 points and Sean Jones and Zack Kelsh with 12 each.
Shoreline faced Clackamas Community College of Oregon in the first consolation game on Saturday and defeated the defending NWAACC champions by the score of 82-76. The Dolphins had a balanced attack led by Zach Kelsh with 18 points, Sean Jones and Blayne Clanton had 14 each and Alfie Miller added 13.
The Dolphins then faced rival Edmonds Community College in the consolation finals on Sunday, and routed the Tritons 79-66 as Joe Bodman scored 20 points followed by Sean Jones with 16, Alfie Miller with 13 and Zack Kelsh with 12. The SCC bench proved to be the difference, as the SCC reserves outscored Edmonds 30 to 6 in the game.
Alfie Miller was named All-Tournament by averaging 14.3 points per game.
First Year Coach Greg Turcott has led SCC to a 5-2 start on the season.

Shoreline, the defending the NWAACC Northern Region Champions, are now 5-2 on the season and now take a two week break before hosting the eight team NWWAACC Northern Region Crossover Tournament in the SCC Gym on December 17-19, with two teams from each of the NWAACC four regions in the tournament.
