The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball team is ranked 8th in the first NWAACC Poll for the season which was released on Wednesday. The defending Northern Region Champions are 5-2 on the season, as new head coach, Greg Turcott, has SCC off to a solid start. Both losses this season for the Dolphins are to teams ranked higher than them in the poll, #4 CC of Spokane and #6 Green River CC. Two Northern Region Teams are ranked above SCC, as Whatcom CC comes in at #2 and Bellevue College is #7.

Shoreline is led by sophomore Alfie Miller who is scoring 16.86 points again, followed by sophomore Sean Jones at 15.80 points and freshman Zack Kelsh at 15.14. Miller was named All-Tournament at Bigfoot/Cardinal tournament, which was played at the CC of Spokane/North Idaho College last weekend, while Kelsh was named All-Tournament at the Pierce Community College Thanksgiving Tournament. SCC has won the consolation bracket at both tournaments it has played in this year.

SCC plays again at the NWAACC Crossover Tournament that Shoreline will be hosting on December 17-19. SCC faces Southwest Oregon at 7:30 PM on Friday, December 17th, in the opening round. If SCC wins that game, more than likely they will face #1 ranked Yakima Valley Community College in the semifinals.
