Programs for children/families at three libraries

Pajamarama Story Times:  Wednesday, December 8 and 15, 7pm.  All young children welcome with parent or caregiver. Wear your pjs and join us for books, stories and songs.

Toddler Story Times:  Thursday, December 9 and 16, 10:15am.  Ages 24 to 36 months with adult, siblings welcome. Join us for books, finger plays, stories and songs just for toddlers.

Preschool Story Times:  Thursday, December 9 and 16, 11am.  Ages 3 to 6 with adult, siblings welcome. Enjoy stories, rhymes, music and movement with other preschool pals as we continue to celebrate the alphabet. This is a great way to get your child ready to read.

16mm Film Festival:  Tuesday, December 28, 2-3pm.  Ages 4 to 10 and their families. Drop in for popcorn and old time movie fun. An assortment of our favorite children's films on 16mm will be shown in the meeting room.

Read to Me!:  Through May 2011.  Newborn to age 5 and their caregivers. Read together for 20 minutes for 20 days in a month, and bring a completed Read to Me form to the library to select a free prize book! Ask at the Information Desk for more details.

Born to Read: Baby Story Times:  Wednesday, December 8, Noon.  Newborn to approximately 12 months with adult

Chinese Story Times:  Friday, December 10 and 17, Noon.  Ages 3 to 6 with adult

Spanish Story Times:  Friday, December 10 and 17, 1:30pm.  Ages 3 to 6 with adult

Young Toddler Story Time:  Tuesday, December 7, 10:15am.  Ages 12 to 24 months with adult

Toddler Story Time:  Tuesday, December 7, 11am.  Ages 2 to 3 with adult

Pajamarama Family Story Time:  Tuesday, December 7, 7pm.  All ages welcome with adult

Creating a Winter Journal:  Saturday, December 11, 1pm, Presented by Molly Hashimoto.  Ages 8 and older.  Learn how to create a journal that celebrates the natural world. Use pencils, pens and fun watercolor techniques to sketch the beauty of late fall and early winter. Space is limited; please register beginning November 27.

Read to Me!:  Through May 2011.  Newborn to age 5 and their caregivers. Read together for 20 minutes for 20 days in a month, and bring a completed 'Read to Me' form to the library to select a free prize book! Ask at the Information Desk for more details

Ready-Set-Read:  If you are in elementary school, take the Reading Challenge. Read at least 20 minutes per day for 20 days and choose a new paperback book at your community library. Forms are available at the library.
