The Kellogg Middle School Wind Ensemble, directed by Alec Wilmart, has been chosen to perform at the MENC-Northwest Division Music Educators Conference on February 19 in Bellevue. Over 110 performance groups from the primary level to the collegiate level auditioned to perform at this prestigious event. Only 35 music groups were chosen, and of those, only a select number of concert bands received invitations to perform.

The Shorewood Symphony Orchestra, directed by Dan Wing, will perform April 24, 2011 at Carnegie Hall in New York City. This will be the third time that the Shorewood orchestra will perform there. The invitations are part of the Ensemble Spotlight series, which highlights outstanding high school and college orchestras and wind ensembles from around the country and overseas. Wing is president-elect of the WMEA and a member of its Hall of Fame.
