Echo Cove Sewer Bypass project is essentially complete

Ronald Wastewater District’s Echo Cove Sewer Bypass project is essentially complete.  The only remaining task is to replace pavement markings in the parking lot of the Echo Cove Condominiums.  That work is limited due to weather conditions.  The job was completed approximately $110,000 below the contract amount of $490,800.  Buno Construction, LLC was the contractor for this project.

Ronald Wastewater District currently has the Echo Lake Trunk Replacement under construction.  Buno Construction, LLC is the contractor for this project.  Work on the west side of the lake has been completed.  There are still some restoration items remaining but flow has been restored to that portion of the Echo Lake Trunk.  No environmental impacts to the lake were noted during construction.

The contractor is currently working on private property easements between Echo Lake and N 200th St.  A temporary wastewater bypass has been established to route wastewater flows around this section of sewer main during the day while workers replace the sewer main.  Flow is restored to the Echo Lake Trunk after work is completed each day.  The bypass begins at the north end of Echo Lake Village and terminates east of Echo Lake Park.

The contractor encountered pipe of a different material under the King County Housing Authority building and one of the Echo Lake Townhomes buildings.  Workers could not pipeburst the sewer mains and, instead, had to resort to replacing segments of the pipeline by traditional open cut methods.  This work will be ongoing for the next several weeks.

The Echo Lake Trunk Replacement project consists of replacing over 2,000 feet of existing 14” and 15” sewer mains around and downstream of Echo Lake with 20” HDPE pipe installed by pipebursting.  Additionally, work will include replacing up to 14 side sewer stubs and 19 side sewers at no additional cost to the property owners.  Pipe will be replaced along the west and north shorelines of Echo Lake, between North 204th Place and North 205th Street and immediately south of North 205th Street at the King County Wastewater Ballinger Pump Station.

The contract amount for the Echo Lake Trunk Replacement is $812,539.
