The Shorecrest girls opened their basketball season with a 78-50 loss at Edmonds-Woodway Tuesday.
Shorecrest led 13-8 after the first quarter and trailed 30-28 at halftime, but Edmonds-Woodway of the Wesco 4A South division blew the 3A Scots away in the second half.
Janie Uppinghouse led Shorecrest with 15 points, including three 3-point goals, and Brianne Lasconia added 13 points, including one 3-point goal.
Shorecrest opens its home season Monday with a 7:30 p.m. game against Arlington of the Wesco 4A North.
