The Shorewood girls’ soccer team will play Glacier Peak at 1 p.m. Saturday for the Northwest District’s second spot in the 16-team State 3A tournament, which starts next week.
Shorewood will meet Glacier Peak for second place in the District after the Thunderbirds lost the District championship game Wednesday to Meadowdale 3-1. Glacier Peak advanced to the second-place game with a 2-0 victory over Everett Thursday.
The gains Saturday will be the third meeting of the season between Shorewood (11-8) and Glacier Peak (18-1-1). Glacier Peak defeated Shorewood 2-1 in a Sept. 30 Wesco 3A game, Shorewood defeated Glacier Peak 1-o Monday in a District semifinal game.
In the Wednesday 3-1 loss to Meadowdale, Shorewood’s Lisa Echert scored the only Thunderbird goal in the 72nd minute, with Meadowdale leading 3-0.
Shorewood goalkeeper Kelsey Jang was injured in the first half and replaced with Karlie Leclair.
