Shoreline Proposition 1 passing in early returns

Shoreline Proposition 1 was ahead in early returns Tuesday night.
Voters were giving the measure a 53.4 percent "yes" vote to 46.6 percent "no."
The votes came from less than 18 percent of registered voters compared to an expected 65-70 percent.
City officials had put the measure on the ballot to lift the 1 percent limit on property-tax revenue established by a Tim-Eyman-sponsored initiatives.
Proponents said it was needed to maintain current basic City services.
Opponents had said that the City spends too much on salaries and that a recession is the wrong time to let property taxes rise.
Results released by King County at 8:15 p.m.:

Ballots Cast/Registered Voters: 11,818 / 65,966 17.92%
Proposition No. 1 Basic Public Safety, Parks & Recreation, and Community Services
Maintenance and Operations Levy
YES 5,925 53.41%
NO 5,169 46.59%

Yeah King County has to work on that, their site is a little difficult to access quickly.
As for the King County elections web site being difficult, I find it easier than the secretary of state's site for copying results.
