This recap of Shoreline City Council activities for the month is provided to the ShorelineAreaNews as a public service by the City Manager's Office.
Shoreline City Council Recap for October 2010
October and November are when the City Council reviews and adopts the budget for the coming year. The City Manager transmitted his proposed 2011 budget to the Council on October 18. Starting on October 25, the Council started reviewing the budget and will continue to do so until the final budget is adopted, which is currently scheduled for November 22.
The first of three public hearings on the budget was held November 1. The next two public hearings are scheduled for November 8 and November 15. Citizens are encouraged to provide input at either of the upcoming public hearings. Both meetings are located at City Hall and start at 7:00 pm. Citizens are also encouraged to submit their concerns or suggestions in writing to the City Council if they are unable to attend the public hearings.

Action Taken
- Authorized acquisition of certain property located at 18805 Aurora Avenue North, Aurora Project Parcel No. 408, for $40,000.
- Adopted post-issuance compliance policies for the tax-exempt 2006 parks bonds and 2009 City Hall bonds.
- Authorized the City Manager to execute a grant agreement with the Washington State Department of Ecology to help implement the City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II permit and stormwater program.
- Authorize City Manager to execute a Memorandum of Agreement with Seattle City Light that will help the City off-set the costs of the solar photovoltaic panels on the City Hall Garage.
