Shorecrest, Shorewood athletes earn all-Wesco honors

Seven Shorecrest and nine Shorewood athletes have won places on fall all-Wesco-3A teams announced last week.

All-Wesco teams in football, girls’ soccer and volleyball came from votes by Wesco 3A coaches. All Wesco cross country, girls’ swimming and boys’ tennis selections came from performances at league-championship competitions.

Shorecrest all-Wesco selections in football were tight end Dillon Baker, offensive lineman Mingure Dorjee, linebacker Dom Donaghy and punter Ted Hammond. Shorecrest all-Wesco soccer players were midfielders Rachel Schrote and Nicole Harris. A Shorecrest selection in boys’ cross country was Abiel Tekle.

A Shorewood football player making all-Wesco was running back Eugene Holley. On the All-Wesco volleyball team was Shorewood hitter Monica Postor. Making all-Wesco in girls’ cross country was Charlee Linton of Shorewood. In tennis, the Shorewood doubles team of Hunter Nelson and Miles Jamieson was all-Wesco. Shorewood all-Wesco swimmers were Dana Michaels in the 200-yard freestyle, the 500 freestyle, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay; and Annika Stenfjord, Alicia Hoverson and Anni Hecker in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.
