CORRECTION: Voter registration deadline is past

Not registered to vote in the Tuesday election?

It’s too late despite what our NewsPartner, the Seattle Times, said in its Monday morning edition.

A Monday Times news story with the headline “What you need to know for Election Day” incorrectly said “Not registered? Hurry, the deadline is Monday. You can visit the King County Elections office, by 4:30 p.m. If you're in Snohomish County, go to the Auditor's Office in Everett, by 5 p.m.”

In fact, the deadline for in-person registration was a week ago, Monday, October 25, eight days before Election Day, and that was only for new Washington voters.

The deadline for previously registered Washington voters to file a change of address or for anyone to register by mail or online was October 4, 29 days before the election.
