Chase leads Baker in late Tuesday returns for 32nd Legislative District Senate

Democrat Maralyn Chase continued to lead Republican David Baker in returns reported at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.The late returns follow a 10 p.m. count from Snohomish County that includes all ballots that arrived at the Snohomish County auditor’s office or in ballot drop boxes by Monday afternoon.
The Snohomish County part of the District includes Woodway, south Edmonds and unincorporated Esperance.Snohomish County was one of the few Washington counties to post a second count Tuesday night.King County will post updated returns at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Those returns will include ballots received by Monday afternoon. The King County part of the District includes Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Kenmore and the Finn Hill area near Kirkland.Snohomish County plans its next update at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Those returns include ballots that arrived Tuesday and votes from accessible voting machines.

The late Tuesday returns show Chase with 58 percent to 42 percent for Baker.
They are running for the State Senate position that incumbent Democrat Darlene Fairley is vacating.
Chase has represented the District in the State House of Representatives for nine years.
Baker is a member of the Kenmore City Council, which he now leads as mayor.

Current Vote Count:
Maralyn Chase (D) --15,647- 58.07%
David Baker     (R) - 11,296-- 41.93%
