Incumbent Shoreline District Court Judge Marcine Anderson extended her lead over challenger Dennis McCurdy in returns announced Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday returns put Anderson’s vote total above 60 percent for the District, which includes Shoreline, Lake Forest Park and Kenmore.
Elections officials reported a 40 percent voter turnout through Wednesday, compared to an expected 70 percent final turnout. Votes counted Wednesday included ballots received by Monday and all votes cast at accessible voting machines in Bellevue, Seattle and Tukwilla.
The two are running for a four-year term that begins in January, plus the last six weeks of the term to which Anderson was appointed early this year.
McCurdy is a senior deputy King County prosecuting attorney.
The King County Council created the new position late last year.
Longtime incumbent Judge Douglas Smith ran unopposed for re-election.
The court hears misdemeanor criminal cases, small civil cases are traffic cases from throughout the District, and municipal cases by contract with the City of Shoreline. Lake Forest Park and Kenmore have their own municipal courts.
Results posted 11/3 4:17 pm
Marcine Anderson 9,864 60.22%
Douglas McCurdy 6,450 39.37%
