Volleyball: Thursday, September 30

Shorewood’s volleyball team won at Mountlake Terrace Thursday and Shorecrest lost a home match to Meadowdale.

The teams trade opponents Monday, when Shorewood plays host to Meadowdale and Shorecrest visits Mountlake Terrace.

Shorewood 3, Mountlake Terrace 1

Shorewood won a Wesco 3A match at Mountlake Terrace by scores of 25-21, 25-11, 22-25 and 25-16.

Carolyn Stransky had 34 assists, five aces and 10 digs, Maddie Welsh had 10 kills and Dana Brindle had seven kills and 16 digs for Shorewood (1-1 league, 3-3 overall).

Meadowdale 3, Shorecrest 1

Meadowdale dispatched Shorecrest (1-1 league, 2-4 overall) by scores of 25-15, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-20 in home Wesco 3A match. The Mavericks improved to 2-0 in league, 2-4 for the season.

The Scots were paced by Emily Corona, who slammed 16 kills, and Elisa Ahern, who had 14 digs, seven kills and three blocks. Marina Stoermer had nine kills, Stephanie Taylor had 18 assists, and Melissa Johnson had 16 digs.
