Shorecrest tops Shorewood, 3-2 in Wesco 3A volleyball opener

Shorecrest’s volleyball team beat Shorewood 3-2 Tuesday, September 28, in the Wesco 3A opener for both teams.

After the teams split the first four games, Shorecrest won the deciding game 16-11.
Shorecrest takes its 1-0 Wesco 3A record and 2-3 overall record into a Tuesday night home match with Meadowdale (1-0, 1-4). Shorewood takes its 0-1, 2-3 record into a Thursday match at Mountlake Terrace (also 0-1, 2-3).

In the Shorecrest victory over Shorewood, Marina Stoermer led the Scots with 17 Kills and 22 digs; Emily Corona had 13 kills and 15 digs; Elisa Ahern had 9 kills and 19 digs; Stephanie Taylor had 23 assists; and Hannah Hensel had 11 assists.

For Shorewood, Molly Whipple had 14 Kills, 12 digs and 3 aces, Carolyn Stransky had 22 assists; Jessie Huffman had 20 digs; and Katie Chae had 10 digs.
