Planting Work Party at Whisper Creek Saturday, October 9

The Lake Forest Park Stewardship Foundation will have a planting party at Whisper Creek on Saturday, October 9, from 9 am to 12 noon.

Volunteers are welcome to join Foundation volunteers to restore this reclaimed natural area along a quiet creek in the Cedarbrook neighborhood.

Whisper Creek is behind (north of) the playground of the closed Cedarbrook Elementary school. Cedarbrook School is on Perkins Way across from 20th Ave NE. The site can also be accessed from Lago Place by going south on 20th Ave NE, or from 18th Ave NE by going east on NE 190th Street. There may be many small fry soccer games in progress in the playground, but the best place to park is in the school parking lot.

If you have a shovel or wheelbarrow, please bring them. Dress for the weather. It may be muddy. Snacks will be provided.

This is an opportunity for students to earn Community Service hours.
